Case study · Ascender Media

Selling video editing without showing a single video.

Ascender Media edits short-form video for founders, creators and agencies. The agency does not show client videos, so we made the site itself the proof: it is built like an editing suite.

01The brief

An agency that sells video, and no client videos to show.

Ascender Media plans, edits and posts short-form video on a monthly plan. The agency does not show client videos, so there was no portfolio to point to. The site still had to convince buyers around the world.

02The problem

No portfolio

A video agency's site usually leans on its reel. Here no client footage could appear, and stock footage or invented work was off the table. The site needed a different kind of proof.

03The goal

Show what the agency does, and why it works, without showing any client video.

04Our approach

How we approached it.

  1. Make the site the craft.

Ascender sells editing, so the page works like an editing suite: a timecode that runs as you scroll, a transport bar for navigation, and sections that behave like clips on a timeline.

  2. Show the edit, and label it.

Small interactive demos show what changes in an edit: captions, hooks and pacing. They are built in code and marked as illustrative, so nobody mistakes them for client footage.

  3. Let the clients speak.

Six real WhatsApp screenshots from clients and prospects, shown with their permission, carry the proof.

  4. Price it like an export.

The three plans, Starter, Growth and Scale, sit side by side as presets, with videos per month, turnaround, revisions and support in one grid.

05What we built

Four parts of the page.

  1. The edit, in code

Captions, hooks and pacing, tried on a sample line. Labelled as illustrative.

  2. One system, three tracks

Plan, Edit and Post as tracks on a timeline, with a playhead that follows the scroll.

  3. Pricing as presets

Three plans in one grid: videos a month, turnaround, revisions and support.

  4. Made for the phone

The same page on a phone, with the transport bar and the booking button always in reach.

On the page

  • A timecode that follows the scroll
  • Caption, hook and pacing demos
  • Plan, edit and post tracks
  • Three pricing presets
  • Six client chats
  • A booking calendar

06The result

Where it stands.

The site is live at ascendermedia.in. On a phone it scores 99 for performance and 100 for accessibility, best practices and SEO, with 92 KB of JavaScript. We have no figures on leads or sales, so this study makes no claims about them.
